Stock Photo Description: The Aloha Tower was built in 1926 and was the tallest and most recognizable structure on Oahu, Hawaii, located at Pier 9 of Honolulu Harbor. The tower stands 10 stories and at a height of 184 feet, which greeted hundreds of thousands of immigrants to Honolulu back in the 1920?s and 1930?s. The tower is topped by a domed cupola and balcony openings on all four sides, providing sweeping views of Honolulu and the Honolulu Harbor. The two large clocks (one facing the harbor, the other facing inland) serves as a distinguishing element, along with the letters ALOHA. The tower also served as an observation deck doubled as a maritime communications and harbor lighthouse control center.
